UNLV @ Santa Clara Live Look 2/27:

In my first week back in America since the College season got going, I was itching to get to a college game. With Cal & Stanford as my local schools, I expect to get a ton of ACC action this year, but with so many Bay Area schools, I am really fortunate to expand my options. That was the case this weekend with a premier mid-major pitching matchup that went down Friday in Santa Clara, with Carson Lane and the UNLV Rebels taking on Max Bayles and the Santa Clara Broncos. Those two were the main focus of making the trip, but 4 others stood out as I took in the action. We’ll begin with them.

UNLV 3B Drew Barragan

⅗ HR, 2R, 2RBI

Drew Barragan began his college career at NAIA’s Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, then transferred to Western Kentucky ahead of the 2025 season, where he hit well in his occasional playing time. This Summer, he transferred to UNLV ahead of his age-24 season and thus far has been off to a blazing start as the everyday third baseman, slashing .488/.551/.780 as of 2/28.
