Sollman holds early lead over Muñoz in SD 15 Dem primary

Three Democrats competed for the Senate District 15 nomination in Tuesday's primary, with State Sen. Janeen Sollman, the two-term incumbent, holding an early lead over challenger Myrna A. Muñoz in initial results released at 8 p.m.
Initial results showed Sollman at 52.36% (3,356 votes), Muñoz at 44.83% (2,873 votes), and Nelly A. Donis-Purcell at 2.43% (156 votes).
On the Republican side, Harold Hutchison ran unopposed, drawing 96.69% of the vote (2,250 votes) in the Republican primary; 77 voters wrote in another name.
The winners of both party primaries will face off in the November general election. Senate District 15 serves Hillsboro and Forest Grove; senators serve four-year terms.
