Janeen Sollman, the two-term incumbent, holding an early lead over challenger Myrna A. Muñoz in initial results released at 8 p.m.\n\nInitial results showed Sollman at 52.36% (3,356 votes), Muñoz at 44.83% (2,873 votes), and Nelly A. Donis-Purcell at 2.43% (156 votes).\n\nOn the Republican side, Harold Hutchison ran unopposed, drawing 96.69% of the vote (2,250 votes) in the Republican primary; 77 voters wrote in another name.\n\nThe winners of both party primaries will face off in the November general election.
