2.1 A transport box having a base shell which is fixedly arranged to the vehicle in an operationally ready assembled state, a cover shell which is pivotably mounted on the base shell and displaceable relative to the base shell between a closed position in which the cover shell rests on the base shell while enclosing a transport volume, and an open position in which the cover shell opens the transport volume and is lifted off the base shell at least in sections, a lighting device which is arranged to illuminate the transport volume, and having a sensor device connected to the lighting device, which is arranged to detect at least one detection parameter, wherein the lighting device can be activated and/or deactivated in dependence on the at least one detection parameter detected by means of the sensor device, is known. 2.2 According to the invention, the sensor device has at least one first inclination sensor which is arranged to detect an inclination of the cover shell with respect to a plumb direction, wherein the lighting device can be activated and/or deactivated in dependence on the detected inclination of the cover shell. 2.3 Use in a transport box for a motor vehicle.
