2.1 A transport box of this type having - a base shell which is arranged fixed to the vehicle in an operationally ready assembled state, - a lid shell which is pivotably mounted on the base shell about at least one pivot axis, - respectively at least one hinge lock on opposite longitudinal sides, by means of which the lid shell can be locked or released on the base shell in the closed position or is pivotably mounted about the pivot axis depending on activation by a manually operable actuating device, is known. 2.2 According to the invention, a locking device with at least one locking element is additionally provided at the end face in a front and/or a rear region of the transport box, by means of which - in the closed position of the lid shell - the lid shell is locked relative to the base shell on the front and/or rear side. 2.3 Use for motor vehicles.
