ILLUMINATED DECORATIVE STRIP

An illuminated trim strip for a motor vehicle, in particular a trim strip as a cover strip for a sealing strip for the window channel of a vehicle door, is intended to achieve a noble-looking lighting effect while at the same time having simple structural design, low manufacturing costs, and space-saving installation. Furthermore, the trim strip should differ as little as possible in appearance from non-illuminated trim strips. For this purpose, it is provided that the profile strip is made of a non-light-transmitting material and, when properly installed on the vehicle, a light gap (10) is formed between the lower visible edge (4) and the adjacent vehicle outer surface (12), from which the light emitted by the light source (8) is able to become visible to the outside.
