Rollover protection for motor vehicles

The invention relates to a rollover protection system for motor vehicles, comprising - a guide unit that can be arranged on a motor vehicle, and - a rollover body that is mounted on the guide unit so as to be adjustable essentially perpendicular to the motor vehicle longitudinal axis and the motor vehicle transverse axis between a storage position and a rollover position. In order to provide a rollover protection system for motor vehicles that can be manufactured cost-effectively and whose rollover body has good deformability under loads in the vehicle longitudinal axis direction, while at the same time possessing high resistance to deformation in the vehicle transverse axis direction, it is provided that a reinforcement element is arranged on the rollover body, which in the rollover position of the rollover body extends in the extension direction from an area within the guide unit over a bending edge and into an area outside the guide unit.
