Rollover protection for vehicles

The rollover protection system (1) has a guide unit arranged at the motor vehicle, a roll over body (2) supported at the guide unit and adjustable between a bearing position and rollover position. The roll over body and the guide unit are formed such that they form a differentiated working space in the bearing position. A gas generator (5) is arranged in the working space. The gas generator forms a drive unit.
