A fuel injection valve (1) for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, comprises a solenoid coil (10), an armature (20) acted upon by the solenoid coil (10) in a closing direction by a return spring (23), and a valve needle (3) in non-positive connection with the armature (20) for actuating a valve closing member (4), which together with a valve seat surface (6) forms a sealing seat. In a connecting sleeve (40) serving the supply-side fuel supply (16), an adjusting element (50) for adjusting the spring force of a return spring (23) is arranged. The adjusting element (50) is provided with a securing means (65) for the return spring (23) in such a manner that the return spring (23) can be pre-assembled in a captive manner on the adjusting element (50) prior to its assembly in the fuel injection valve (1).
