The method involves connecting an electric machine (40) in a power flow direction behind the latter of two friction clutches (20,30) with the latter of two power transmission paths (26,36). A pure electric driving mode is carried out by the latter of two sub-transmissions (22,32) associated with the latter friction clutch. A fill-in torque is provided from the kinetic energy of a previously dragged, unfired drive motor (12). A hybrid drive train (10) has an electric starter motor (44) for dragging the drive motor.
