The method involves providing a clutch arrangement (22) with two friction clutches (28, 30) having a common input unit (32), and connecting output units (34, 36) of the friction clutches with drive shafts, respectively. The drive shafts are connected with driving wheels (24, 26) of a motor vehicle (10), and the driving wheels are actuated during acquisition of different friction coefficients of road surfaces such that drive torque of the driving wheels is restricted to drive torque of one of the driving wheels with low friction coefficient. An independent claim is also included for a drive strand of a motor vehicle comprising a clutch arrangement for distributing driving power to driving wheels.
