Method for controlling a supercharged engine, and corresponding engine

The method involves opening and closing an exhaust valve (27-1) of a cylinder (1), during an exhaust stage. A high pressure is developed in the cylinder during the opening of the exhaust valve. An exhaust valve (27-2) is then opened and closed during another exhaust stage, where the exhaust valve (27-1) is closed after the valve (27-2) is opened. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
