Sealing system (2) for a shaft, especially for an internal combustion engine, comprises an engine housing cover with a through bore receiving a support element (5). The support element has at least one dynamic sealing region (9) and at least one static sealing region (8) and is provided with a centering region (12). The support element is connected to the engine housing cover via a bayonet fixing. The centering region is arranged in the plane of the bayonet fixing so that the dynamic sealing region is brought into contact with a shaft and the static sealing region is brought into contact with pre-determined pressure force with a corresponding section (3) of the engine housing cover. Preferred Features: The centering region is formed by radially extending attachments.
