The trunk cover (10) for especially a station wagon comprises a flexible material sheet (11) wound from a spindle. Guides (19) are provided on the body side for a guide component (20) on the end edge (15) of the sheet. The guide component has a locking tongue constructed as a separate component which is movable between a locked position, in which it blocks movement of the guide component in the winding up direction (F), and a released position in which this movement is not prevented. The locking tongue is spring-loaded in the locked direction, and unlocking means are provided to release the locking tongue.
