Procedure and device for actuating a vehicle roof system

The method involves parallelly moving a foldable convertible top (3) and a cover e.g. trunk lid (1) during specific operational conditions such that the convertible top remains in its folded resting position. The convertible top is received in a compartment, that is securable by the cover, when in the folded resting position. An Independent claim is also included for a convertible top actuation apparatus.
