Covering for a vehicle load compartment

The cover (6.1) is for a vehicle baggage space (4) with a transporting container and has a hollow body, e.g. a trunk. The transporting container is an integral component of the hollow body. The trunk lid (17) becomes part of the internal covering or trim. The bottom (18) of the trunk takes over the function of a baggage space cross wall. The cover may be in the form of a turning baggage rack on the rear of the vehicle. There is a transporting handle (27) on the lid, the position of which can be altered.
