Pedal

DRIVE August 21, 2002
Source
The pedal (10) has a pedal arm (14) acted on by the force applied by the foot of the driver at one end (16), its opposite end (18) pivoted about a pivot axis (20) attached to one lever arm (28) of a lever (26) supported in the pedal housing (24). A second lever arm (30) cooperates with a sensor (36) detecting the pedal movement. The lever is coupled to the movement of the pedal arm between its initial position and an intermediate position and is uncoupled from the pedal arm during its movement between the intermediate position and its end position.
