Seat belt device

The arrangement has a safety belt (11), belt spool (15), spool drive (19), gearbox (23) between spool and drive and a switch (27). The switch enables at least one gear configuration to be set starting from an idle mode, whereby the configuration corresponds to a comfort mode with the spool driven in the unrolling direction or tightening mode with the spool driven in the retraction direction. The switch can be operated by the drive.
