Seat belt device

The arrangement has a safety belt (11), a belt spool (15), a spool drive (19), a gearbox (23) between the spool and drive and a switch (27). The switch enables at least one gear configuration to be set starting from an idle mode, whereby the configuration corresponds to a comfort mode with the spool driven in the unrolling direction or a tightening mode with the spool driven in the retraction direction. The switch can be operated by the drive.
