Cartridge for a rollover protection system guiding an expandable and retractable rollbar

Roll-over protection systems of this type are used in particular in motor vehicles without a protective roof, such as convertibles or roadsters. They typically have a roll-over body (5) which is guided and held so as to be extendable and retractable in a housing (4) fixed to the vehicle, as well as a releasable holding device in connection with a sensor-controlled actuator (18), which holds the roll-over body (5) in the retracted position in the normal state, and which is released in a controlled manner in the event of a crash, with the roll-over body (5) being raised into its upper, protective position, with such a roll-over protection system (1, 2) being assigned to each vehicle seat. To simplify the holding and release device, according to the invention the housings (4) of two roll-over protection systems (1, 2) assigned to adjacent vehicle seats are fastened to a support (3) which is anchored to the vehicle, and a common actuator (18) is provided for both holding devices (13, 15), which is mechanically coupled to the holding devices.
