Rollover protection system for vehicles with a pyrotechnical actuator
DRIVE
October 2, 2002
Roll-over protection systems of this type typically have a guided roll-over body which, in the normal state, is held by a holding device against the force of at least one prestressed drive compression spring in a lower, retracted rest position, and which, upon release of the holding device, can be brought into an upper, lockable protective position by the spring force of the drive compression spring. These holding devices furthermore have a sensor-controlled release element, which is increasingly formed by a pyrotechnic release element that ejects a pin. In order to ensure simple reversing of the roll-over body, the roll-over protection system is designed such that the holding device has a rotatably connected spring-prestressed holding pawl (17) connected to the roll-over body (1) and a vehicle-fixed holding bolt (18), which in the rest position are in operative connection with one another in a holding manner, and such that between the end face of the pin (23) of the pyrotechnic release element (19) and the holding pawl (17) there is arranged a spring-prestressed spacer piece (24a) which can be pivoted about the holding bolt (18).
