Fuel supply arrangement

An electric low-pressure pump (6) delivers fuel from the fuel tank (2) to a camshaft-driven high-pressure pump (12). Excess fuel is normally returned to the tank via a shutoff valve (30) from the fuel line (10). If the heat of the engine via the high volume pump raises the temperature in the fuel supply line above a specific threshold, the excess fuel valve is closed. Fuel is then fed from the fuel reservoir (44) via a valve (50) back to the fuel tank.
