DRIVE September 5, 2001
Source
This system is characterized in that the engine (1) is associated with different components, and with means (17) for controlling the operation of these different components, further adapted to trigger a regeneration phase of the particulate filter by combustion of the particles trapped therein by engaging a phase of multiple fuel injections into the cylinders of the engine during their expansion phase, and in that these control means (17) comprise means (25) for storing reference charge state information of the particulate filter and means (18) for updating this reference charge state information by measurement thereof after at least certain regeneration phases of this filter.
