Headlight housing

The headlamp housing (1) has a front light output opening (2) covered by a lamp glass (7) and a side section (3) extending inwards from the light output opening which has at least one rupture point (4) designed for absorbing the force upon impact with a pedestrian or cyclist, with the parts (5,6) on either side of the rupture point telescopically interfitting. An Independent claim for an automobile provided with a front headlamp housing is also included.
