Live Looks: 2026 College World Series Day 3

Just another phenomenal day of games. And we got our first real mix of game types on day 3: one shootout and one highlighted by the arms.

Ole Miss became the first team to leave Omaha today as they blew an early 4-run lead due to a controversial situation in the 5th and will make the long trek back to Oxford. On a more positive note, North Carolina became the first team to guarantee a spot as one of the final four teams with their gritty victory over West Virginia.

The Carolina faithful were out in full force and helped the Tar Heels advance to 2-0 in the CWS for the first time since 2006, despite the six other chances between now and then. From Walker McDuffie's AI glasses (thanks, Pat McAfee) to Jabe Ruth cementing himself in postseason history, here's our biggest takeaways and most impressive performers from a thrilling third day of the College World Series:

Troy 12, Ole Miss 8

The first game of the day gave us a ton of entertainment from the very beginning. This game honestly had it all: lead changes, big time home runs, really good pitching from guys on both sides, and a rowdy crowd that didn’t seem to want this one to end.
