Live from the 2026 ACC Tournament: Day 3

The quantity of games went down, but the quality most certainly went up. The second game of the day felt relatively dominant from the jump, but the opening match featured a back-and-forth battle between both clubs of who can hurt the pitchers' feelings the worst. We barely got out of the park in time to beat the rain, but three of yesterday's offenses were already pouring it on all day long. After a couple of talent-filled matchups, here's my biggest takeaways:

Georgia Tech 16, Virginia 10

Absolute fireworks were on display in this one. Tank after tank. Barrel after barrel. Drew Burress hit a ball 114 mph and made back-to-back leaping grabs?!? Game of the week, and I'm not sure how it gets topped. The fun just refused to stop, and no arm was safe. Georgia Tech is well known as the best offense in the country, and they defended that title with flying colors yesterday afternoon. The Hoos get sent home after a valiant effort, but they finally showed life after roughly a month of looking dead. After two long days of blowouts, I'd like to sincerely thank the GT and UVA baseball programs for the joy they gave the press box on this fine Thursday afternoon.
