College Daily Sheet: Ace is Wild 5/7/26 (Midweek)
Atlantic Coast
Covered by: Will Dodge
Jack Crighton, LF Clemson (Atlantic Coast)
4-for-5, 2B, R
The Clemson Tigers played spoiler, picking up an 8-4 win at Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, as the Clemson senior OFer Jack Crighton led the Tigers with 4 hits. Crighton continues to do Crighton things with his AVG back up to over .300. There isn’t a whole lot else in his game, and he won’t carry any draft value, but he’ll be a “Name a random college baseball player while on the couch” candidate when his career is over.
Kaden Smith, DH Duke (Atlantic Coast)
2-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 2 RBI
💣💣 Michael DiMartini, CF Duke (Atlantic Coast)
3-for-4, 2 HR, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI
🍔🍟 👟 RJ Hamilton, RF Duke (Atlantic Coast)
2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, 2 SB
The Duke Blue Devils suffered a deflating 11-7 loss while hosting Queens on Tuesday, and the fat lady can start singing, as this Blue Devils season will be known for the what-if, if they could’ve stayed healthy through their hot start. The Duke bats did their job, with Kaden Smith and Michael DiMartini each pounding 2 HRs, and RJ Hamilton hitting a homer himself while adding on with 2 swiped bags. The transfer DiMartini carries the most draft value out of the bunch, lifted by 70-grade speed, but even with the double blast day, it’s been an ugly JR season marred by a .11 BB/K ratio. RJ Hamilton could give DiMartini a run for his draft value money, finally getting a season with playing time after 2 bench filled years with Vandy. Hamilton is slashing .327/.430/.528 with 25 SBs, and would play CF for likely 95% of other schools.
