Jack Toomey, RF Boston College (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-5, 2B, 2 R, RBI, BB, SB

The BC Eagles took the rubber match on Sunday over Virginia Tech 6-2, with senior OFer Jack Toomey continuing to have an excellent season to cap off his college career. Toomey had a two-hit day, plus a double, a walk, and a stolen base. He entered Sunday with career highs in AVG, OBP, OPS, and SB. The Eagles got off to a big 6-0 lead in the 3rd and held on the rest of the way. Boston College will likely hang on in the various weekly rankings and will host Duke next weekend. Virginia Tech will host a now-struggling PITT squad.

Owen Hull, CF North Carolina (Atlantic Coast)

5-for-6, HR, 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI

North Carolina pulled away mid-way through the game to defeat Clemson on the road 12-5. Senior OFer Owen Hull is a repeater on this sheet and made his second selection easy with a 5-hit game, plus a double and a homer. His HR was his second of the season. Hull has had an excellent season in the middle of an underrated Tar Heel lineup, and is up to a .379 AVG on the season. What looked like a promising start to the weekend ends in a series loss for Clemson as they’ll look to rebound on the road at Virginia. North Carolina will get ready for a massive weekend hosting the likely soon-to-be No. 2 team in the country, Georgia Tech.

Trevor Moore, RHP Stanford (Atlantic Coast)

4 IP, 3 K

Stanford completed an upset series win at Louisville on Sunday with a comeback 6-4 win, won on a go-ahead 3-run homer by JJ Moran with the Cardinal down to their final out. Right-hander Trevor Moore closed it out for Stanford, going 4 perfect innings, striking out 3. The senior has had a good season in a multi-inning high-leverage relief role, posting career highs in ERA & K-BB%. Stanford is up to .500 on the season and will host Miami this upcoming weekend. Louisville slides to 6-9 in ACC play and continues a difficult stretch for the club. They’ll fly to Berkeley to take on Cal this upcoming weekend.
