PLIVE+ Deep Sea Diving: Month One Standouts 05/05/26

Prospects Live May 6, 2026
Source

Charles Trimble (@high_upside on X...give him a follow!) takes charge of the Deep Sea Diving article series that uncovers the hidden gems of the minor leagues. In this series, Charles will use PLive+/-, Prospect Live's secret weapon (which all MVP and Hall of Fame subscribers have access to) that uncovers the next breakout prospects before anyone else.

In the PLive+ article, Charles looks at hitting prospects who are rostered in less than 5% of Fantrax leagues who are performing to start the season. The recommendation we will make to you avid dynasty players, is to have at least 2-3 roster spots at the bottom of your farm system where you churn through players like this, because there's a chance that you could uncover a future MLB regular, or in rare cases, a star! Regardless of the depth of your leagues, this is a place you want to be (Tuesday and Friday will be the regular dates for these articles) and Charles will be the pilot of the submarine that will guide you bottom of the ocean to identify these players.

Get in on the ground floor

Raudi Rodriguez, LAA, OF

22 yo, Double-A, 3% rostered on Fantrax, PL+ career/year 129/122 (+4.8 monthly change)

The tooled-up 22-year-old is walking more than he’s striking out and slashing .282/.440/.400 in Double-A this year. Rodriguez has 3 HR and 11 SB (2 CS) in 25 GP after posting 14 HR and 38 SB (6 CS) in 125 GP last year. His contact rate is a bit of a red flag, but it hasn’t affected his production so far.

Yeremy Cabrera, WAS, OF

20 yo, Single-A, 4% rostered on Fantrax, PL+ career/year 133/102

Cabrera was acquired from Texas in the Mackenzie Gore trade and has shown out in his first season for the Nationals. He’s up to 15 XBH (5 HR) and 14 SB (2 CS) in 24 GP this season. His .297/.429/.593 slash line is inflated by a .393 BABiP, but the power/speed blend is very interesting.

he keeps RAKING!

Yasser Mercedes, MIN, OF

21 yo, Single-A, 3% rostered on Fantrax, PL+ career/year 115/105 (-1.3 monthly change)

Mercedes is walking more and striking out less, and as a result, good things are happening. He’s up to 4 HR and 6 SB in only 16 GP and is slashing .302/.405/.556. The BABiP will fall a bit, and he’s been stuck at single-A since 2024, but a promotion should be imminent.
