PLIVE- Deep Sea Diving: Month One Standouts (05/08/26)

Our newest writer, Charles Trimble (@high_upside on X...give him a follow!) takes charge of the Deep Sea Diving article series that uncovers the hidden gems of the minor leagues. In this particular article, Charles looks at pitching prospects who are rostered in less than 5% of Fantrax leagues who are performing to start the season. The recommendation we will make to you avid dynasty players, is to have at least 2-3 roster spots at the bottom of your farm system where you churn through players like this, because there's a chance that you could uncover a future MLB regular, or in rare cases, a star! Regardless of the depth of your leagues, this is a place you want to be (Tuesday and Friday will be the regular dates for these articles) and Charles will be the pilot of the submarine that will guide you bottom of the ocean to identify these players.

Juaron Watts-Brown, RHP, BAL

24 yo, Double-A; 5% rostered on Fantrax; PL- year/career 91/87 (-0.9 monthly change)

Watts-Brown struggled in his return to Double-A in his pa/st start but dominated his three High-A appearances. The 6’3 RHP has 4 offerings with 99+ TJStuff+ scores, and his 4-seam touches 95.

Mason Peters, LHP, SEA

22 yo, Single-A; 3% rostered on Fantrax; PL- year/career 79/87 (-2.2 monthly change)

The small (5’11) framed LHP is up to 30 K in 20 IP with just 5 BB. The 4th round 2025 pick has gone exactly 4.0 innings in each of his 5 starts this season. He runs his fastball into the high-90s and has a breaking ball that induces ugly swings.

Luis Serna, RHP, NYY

21 yo, High-A; 2% rostered on Fantrax; PL- year/career 95 /89 (+0.4 monthly change)

At 5’ 11, Serna is shorter than most players on this list. He’s never had a strikeout rate under 27.1%, and currently has a 1.67 ERA/2.80 FIP through 27 IP (5 starts). He has a deep five-pitch mix, with all 5 scoring 99 or better TJStuff+. He features his changeup, but the sinker (108 tjStuff+) and slider (105) score higher on TJ’s model.
