Live Looks: Georgia Tech at Cal 4/2/26
Last Thursday, I made it back out to Berkeley to check out Georgia Tech as they took on Cal. The game was a nice example of how the two programs are, quite frankly, in two different stratospheres. Cal opted to throw Freshman righty Otto Espinoza with the series starting a day early.
He’s had a nice season, but he did not have it today, constantly showing an inability to sync his body with his long-arm path & high-arm-angle delivery, leading to 9 Yellow Jackets runs in the top of the 1st, and GT continued to win 17-2 in 7. Still, even with the uncompetitive game, the Yellow Jackets had some standout performances and notable draft prospects that I want to highlight.

Advincula Double
Jarren Advincula was back in his hometown and facing his former school this weekend and had himself a day and series. He broke Friday’s game open with 2 doubles and a triple in the first 3 innings, knocking in 5 runners. At the plate, he showed incredible barrel adjustability to pitches at all regions in the zone. This was best exemplified when he ripped a backfoot FB for a double in the first, hitting the ball at 105 mph.
