Live Looks: UC Santa Barbara at UC Davis 3/13/26

A game which has become more and more on my radar as the season moved along, I made the hour (it was 2 1⁄4 with traffic) up to Davis for my only chance to check out the College SP1 Jackson Flora. There was a senior scouting advisor from a team who will select in the top 5 in attendance, and Flora put on a show.

UCSB RHP Jackson Flora (6’5/190, ‘26 Eligible, 21.2 in July ‘26)

7.1 IP, 2H, BB, 11K, 113P, 7GB, 16Wh

While it wasn’t his most dominant or efficient night, Jackson Flora took over on Friday night and was two infield singles away from a no-hit bid. Aside from a FB that can touch the triple digits (he was only up to 98 in this start), Flora flashed it all, the outlier athleticism, the multiple breaking balls that tunnel off the FB with premium velo, and the projection in the new Kick-Change. His ability to make the most out of an outing despite not having the FB dialed in was a bright sign of development out of the right-hander.
