Atlantic Coast

Covered by: Will Dodge

‼️ Wes Mendes, LHP Florida State (Atlantic Coast)

7 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 11 K

Brayden Dowd, CF Florida State (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI

💣💣 Eli Putnam, 2B Florida State (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

The first game of the second biggest ACC series of the weekend was all Florida State Seminoles. They run ruled Wake Forest on Friday, 10-0 in 7, hitting 5 HRs off of Wake’s Friday starter, Blake Morningstar, and FSU’s starter Wes Mendes held Wake to only 2 hits. Mendes was simply dominant with 11 punchouts on the night. His FB velocity was down about 2 mph from where he was in Week 2 (pitching in a climate-controlled Globe Life Park vs cold and windy Winston-Salem), but his CH/CB combo was magnificent. The bats were terrific for FSU, with Brayden Dowd and Eli Putnam as the most impactful. Brayden Dowd had a double and a homer in a 3-hit day, and is starting to heat up with an AVG up to .326 now. Putnam entered the day with 1 HR on the year, but after his 2-homer game, he too is looking to break out as well. A transfer from Davidson, Putnam hit 35 HRs over the past two seasons.

AJ Gracia, CF Virginia (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB

Harrison Didawick, LF Virginia (Atlantic Coast)

4-for-5, 3B, R, RBI

Game 1 of the Baseball Commonwealth Cup looked like a shootout early on with 14 runs in 6 innings, but the hitting cooled off with only 3 runs the rest of the way, and it was the Virginia Cavaliers taking the first one 11-6. The early first-round hopeful, OF AJ Gracia, went yard again, now up to 7 on the season, despite pitchers avoiding throwing anything over the plate at all costs. His homer was hit the other way, and left the bat at 104 mph, travelling 377’. With an OBP that technically lowered to .522, Gracia is still getting on base more than ever. Harrison Didawick is not the same kind of potent bat, despite his 23 HR season in 2024, but he has been on a hot stretch as well, spanning back to last week versus North Carolina. Didawick added to it on Friday with a 4-hit day, including a triple, bringing his AVG up to .378.

💣💣 Lorenzo Carrier, RF Pittsburgh (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-2, 2 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI, 3 BB

Kai Wagner, 3B Pittsburgh (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-5, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI

Jimmy Nati, 2B Stanford (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

Welp, time for the daily Lorenzo Carrier update! With 2 HRs and 3 BBs in his 5 PAs Friday, his 7-game stretch is up to 20/24, 9 HRs, 2 2Bs, and 2 3Bs. His first blast was a line drive screamer, leaving the bat at 107 mph, hit with a low 23* LA. Then in the ninth, Carrier outdid himself with a 423-foot blast to L-CF, leaving the bat at 109 mph. The breakout is here, and this has truly been an exceptional run to follow as he continues to ramp up in competition. In between the two Carrier HRs, Kai Wagner hit an almost identical HR to Carrier’s first HR, with a 105 EV / 22* LA low blast to RF. Wagner is an RS JR transfer from Northern Colorado, who has been off to a sluggish start, but tallied his second homer of the year Friday. Despite the huge numbers put up by those two Panthers, the winners in Game 1 of the weekend series were Stanford, by the score of 9-7. The Cardinal did it on a total team affair, but the leader was senior INFer Jimmy Nati, who had a 3-hit day with a home run. The Aussie’s HR was a moonshot with a 35* LA, and broke the game open for Stanford, putting the Cardinal up 8-4 in the eighth inning. Nati swatted 16 homers last year, but a poor performance in plate discipline likely contributed to his returning for a senior year. He’s struggled to improve on that plate discipline, but is starting to get hot with the power bat, which hasn’t changed a bit.

‼️ Ryan Marohn, LHP North Carolina State (Atlantic Coast)

7 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 6 K

The NC State Wolfpack got back on the right foot and won Game 1 of their 3-game set versus Boston College, 4-2, and did so off the back of 7 shutout innings from their Friday starter Ryan Marohn. It wasn’t the most shut-down outing for Marohn, but he did shut out a lineup that put up 26 runs their last time out. His ERA is down to 0.87 with an 11.3 K/9, and he has quietly risen his name into the College LHP1 talks, which seems to be just Mason Edwards in the conversation for now. Marohn generated 7 groundball outs and 2 DPs, including one he started himself, 1-6-3.

Noah Coy, SS Notre Dame (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-5, HR, R, 4 RBI, BB

Davis Johnson, DH Notre Dame (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI, BB

Zion Rose, DH Louisville (Atlantic Coast)

4-for-6, HR, 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI

At least from the Notre Dame side, game 1 of this three-game series was supposed to be a pitching duel, but Friday’s affair was quite the opposite, with Notre Dame taking down Louisville 14-11. Notre Dame’s ace Jack Radel allowed 6 runs in 3 IP, but the Irish fought back with a 10-run 4th inning, including two grand slams in that inning, from Coy and Johnson. Both slams were a bit of wall scrapers, but the ND offensive attack was a total team effort and has them 1-0 in a crucial ACC series. Zion Rose is red hot back from his ankle injury and added 4 hits Friday, including a double and a 2-run home run. He entered the season as a name to watch for the first two rounds in the draft.

Tyler Albright, RF Duke (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB

‼️ Aidan Weaver, RHP Duke (Atlantic Coast)

6 IP, 2 H, BB, 6 K

Duke, looking for a rebound after dropping a home series to Notre Dame last weekend, shut down a potent Miami offense, blanking them 4-0. The Blue Devils took the lead with their first at bat of the game, with Tyler Albright sending his first homer of the year out to the opposite field, leaving at 100 mph. After that, it was all the Aidan Weaver show. He put up 6 innings of 0s for Duke, striking out 8, and only allowing 2 hits with a walk. The senior is off to a good start to his season with a 22% K-BB and a 3.58 ERA. He attacks hitters with a FB/CT/CH combo with the heater sitting in the lower 90s, and the CH getting good velocity separation, around 10 mph.

💣💣 Vahn Lackey, C Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

Game 1: 3-for-3, HR, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB

Game 2: 2-for-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, BB

💣💣 Drew Burress, CF Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

Game 1: 2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

‼️ Tate McKee, RHP Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

Game 2: 6 IP, H, 5 BB, 6 K

💣💣 Nate Savoie, C Clemson (Atlantic Coast)

Game 2: 3-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

The series of the week in the ACC kicked off on Thursday with a Yellow Jackets run-rule shutout, 10-0 in 7, and carried that into Friday with a 9-3 to take an early series win. Georgia Tech’s stars carried the way on Friday, with Vahn Lackey going 3/3 with a walk, double, and homer, and top-of-the-draft hopeful Drew Burress unloading 2 home runs, including a 429’ blast. McKee has had an up-and-down start to the season, allowing some more walks than typical for him, and even though he almost allowed a walk an inning, it wasn’t enough for Clemson to cross the plate. He’s a draft hopeful later down the board, but with a K% up to 26 this year, he’s showing a new aspect to his game. In the second game, Lackey continued his hot streak with another homer and a walk. He’s up to 9 HRs and 7 SBs on the year, with more than double his walks than strikeouts. As Georgia Tech continues to win, he has become a Golden Spikes short-lister. In the losing affair, Nate Savoie had a two-homer game. He’s already up to 7 HRs on the year, with his two on Friday leaving the bat at 107 & 112 mph. He’s 2027 eligible.

Jake Schaffner, SS North Carolina (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI

North Carolina took game 1 of their series at Cal 8-1, in a game that looked like a tight one early, but after a 4-run sixth, the Heels took over in the end. SS Jake Schaffner is continuing to show he has power in his bat with 3 HRs this year, the same amount he’s hit in his entire two-year North Dakota State career. The Schaffner blast was a solo no-doubter to RF, over the Soccer stadium stands. What was supposed to be a hit/defense-first SS, Schaffner could become an intriguing profile if he continues his slugging stretch. Jason DeCaro had a great rebound after last week, with 6 1-run innings, striking out two.

Big 12

Covered by: Drew Wheeler

‼️ Cole Carlon, LHP Arizona State (Big 12)

5.0 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 BB, 11 K

Carlon punched out a career-high 11 in a five-inning showing against TCU but Arizona State could not pick him up with the bats. Carlon was impressive in pitching his way out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth frame and his slider was really sick; in fact, of his first four strikeouts, all came by way of the breaker and three TCU batters swung and missed against the slider. After a supremely interesting start against Mississippi State pulled short by his leg cramps, Carlon has been acceptable, but certainly not flashy for a surging ASU squad; his ability to keep them in the game on Fridays will be a big boon for their Big XII hopes.

🍔🍟 PJ Moutzouridis, SS Arizona State (Big 12)

1-for-2, HR, R, RBI, 2 BB, SB

The normally-electric Sun Devils offense stumbled against a Top 25 team yet again; no shame whatsoever to Moutzouridis, who came away with a combo meal on the evening. The homer, a first inning solo shot which flew 341 feet to deep right, represented the only earned run Arizona State could muster against left-hander Mason Brassfield. Moutzouridis doesn’t lean on power as a major part of his game either way, but it’s nice to see.

‼️ Mason Brassfield, LHP TCU (Big 12)

6.0 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 BB, 8 K, HRA

TCU may be alright on Friday nights, huh? The injury to Tommy LaPour is certainly still a sore point for the Frogs, but Brassfield stepped up last night with six innings of one-run ball. The one-run in question came as PJ Moutzouridis knocked a solo shot to deep right in the bottom of the first, but Brassfield settled and allowed only a single baserunner from the third frame to the sixth. A fastball/slider operator from the left side, Brassfield’s slider was nearly untouchable for the Sun Devils all night long.

🚑 Chase Brunson, CF TCU (Big 12)

0-for-3, BB, 3 K

Brief injury update on Brunson who suffered an apparent right ankle (or lower leg) injury in the bottom seventh. Brunson was tracking a Sam Myers fly ball and fell to the grass; to his credit, the centerfielder got up and threw the ball in, too late to prevent an RBI triple, though. Trainers attended to Brunson and he ended up carted off the field; the university has not produced any news as of this writing.

Owen Kramkowski, RHP Arizona (Big 12)

5.1 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, BB, 8 K

Last week I called Kramkowski mercurial and it seems like even more an appropriate adjective a week later; in his last start, Kram put up six scoreless with five hits and nine strikeouts. Last night, the right-hander stumbled to four earned runs across five and a third; generally, free passes are not the issue for Kramkowski and he kept this trend last night, only offering one. The strikeouts kept up from last week, as he posted eight versus nine in his six scoreless on March 6. Through the first three innings, Kramkowski’s fastball, sinker, and slider worked despite a one-run deficit, but some defensive miscues allowed hits to reach base and gave the Utes a four-run sixth inning. The Wildcats ended up winning despite Kramkowski’s up-and-down effort, but steadier performance would not only benefit Arizona, but Kram’s draft stock, as well.

‼️ Colter McAnelly, RHP Utah (Big 12)

7.0 IP, H, 2 ER, BB, 6 K

Clapping for Jake’s boy Colter McAnelly who posted back-to-back quality starts on Friday evenings and unfortunately saw the Utes suffer their first loss in the new home of America First Ballpark. McAnelly put six opponents away via the strikeout and only allowed a pair of earned runs; Arizona stacked another six late to put the Utes down.

Andrew Williamson, CF Central Florida (Big 12)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

A week ago I mentioned Williamson as having a bit of a disappointing start to the 2026 season, and he’s done nothing but shove those words back at me since! Respect, honestly. Either way, a solo shot in the bottom fourth flew 355 feet and sparked the Knights’ comeback, putting the first run on the board for UCF Friday evening. The plate discipline was the only facet of Williamson’s game which wasn’t on display on Friday night, but in some regards, a 2-for-4 day with a single strikeout and three RBI will play regardless. Maybe conference play is the cure for all that ailed Williamson early…

Travis Sanders, SS Baylor (Big 12)

3-for-5, R, 4 RBI, K, SB

Crediting Sanders for bringing four runs around, knocking early-count (0-0, 0-0, and 0-1, for those curious) shots to his pull side. On the season, the redshirt sophomore has been one of Baylor’s most consistent performers and the four runs he brought around ended up being more than 50 percent of what the Bears needed to shut down WVU on Friday.

Matt Ineich, SS West Virginia (Big 12)

2-for-3, HR, R, RBI, 2 BB

Sean Smith, DH West Virginia (Big 12)

3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI

The Mountaineers offense was not in bad shape on Friday, but Baylor edged them out on the scoreboard in the end despite shortstop Matt Ineich’s ninth-inning 363-foot solo shot; the blast narrowed the gap to 7-6, but West Virginia could not put any more runs across to take the victory. DH Sean Smith is one of the most fun players on the WVY team and put up a pair of XBH with a double as well as his top-sixth homer, a 377-foot shot which put the Mountaineers within two runs. This series should be a fun one.

Shintaro Inoue, 2B Kansas State (Big 12)

5-for-6, HR, 2B, 4 R, 6 RBI

👟 Dee Kennedy, SS Kansas State (Big 12)

3-for-4, 2B, R, 2 RBI, BB, K, 2 SB

I’ll quote Josh Catlett and say “this Kansas State offense is flat-out ridiculous.” Credit must start with second baseman Shintaro Inoue, who posted an amazing 5-for-6 evening with six RBI. Inoue’s day started in the top third with a single to short, capping off a six-pitch AB. Later, Inoue knocked a three-run homer 371 feet to deep right field, ending ANOTHER six-pitch AB. Finally, in the eighth, Inoue smacked a two-run double down the right field line. Inoue’s discipline was on display, as he came away with game-changing hits in deep counts. Dee Kennedy did Dee Kennedy things, coming up big in the seventh (with an RBI single to right field) and eighth frames (an RBI double to left center) while posting a pair of stolen bases. Credit to catcher Bear Madliak for his 3-for-3 night and Grant Gallagher for taking four free passes and scoring all five times he reached base, too. K-State is nuclear.

Tre Broussard, DH Houston (Big 12)

2-for-3, R, RBI, BB, K

Tre Broussard returned to the Cougars’ lineup, filling the familiar role of designated hitter; Broussard’s apparent injury preventing him from filling his standard spot in center field also seemingly kept him from action in the last several weeks, so this is a welcome return for Houston. The team’s 54th ranked college prospect for the summer’s draft did put his stamp on the game with a single down the left field line in the sixth inning, driving a run across the plate.

Quinton Coats, 1B Cincinnati (Big 12)

3-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, K

Another day, another Quinton Coats goliath homer. The 2027 draft has a lot of college bats well worth following and Coats is forcing his way into that conversation with each passing day; on the evening, the Bearcats' 1B went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs of his own, a walk, a strikeout, and a double. Coats’ power is very, very real, and will make Cincinnati an intriguing team with Big XII Title aspirations.

Jack Natili, C Cincinnati (Big 12)

2-for-6, 2 2B, R, RBI, 3 K

Jackson Smith, 2B Cincinnati (Big 12)

3-for-4, 2B, 2 R, RBI, BB, K, SB

Conlan Daniel, CF Cincinnati (Big 12)

3-for-4, HR, 2 2B, 2 R, RBI, K

Handful of credit to be shared among the rest of the Bearcats, too. Jackson Smith’s three hits, including a ninth-frame double, led to two runs, though his free pass and stolen base also stand out. Centerfielder Conlan Daniel got in on the action with a 3-for-4 night of his own, smacking a pair of doubles and knocking a fourth-inning homer (a solo shot). Catcher Jack Natili did come away with a pair of doubles, but also struck out thrice; this is probably an aberration, but Natili has shown issues identifying breaking balls and can get aggressive at the plate. Here’s hoping he balances the issue.

Brady Ballinger, LF Kansas (Big 12)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, K

The team’s 32nd-ranked NCAA prospect for this summer’s draft has been quieter than expected to kick off the 2026 season, but a homer in the top of the fourth was a good start to conference play. Ballinger knocked it to right center for a solo shot; in the top sixth, Ballinger singled through the right side gap to bring another runner around. Ballinger has very real power and strong plate discipline and I would expect him to continue excelling through Big XII play.

🍔🍟 Logan Hughes, LF Texas Tech (Big 12)

2-for-2, HR, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB, SB

A resonant ‘Logan Hughes’ performance here. The power was fully on display, as Hughes sent a solo shot over the right field wall in the bottom first. The pair of walks also shows off Hughes’ eye at the plate, and with a stolen base on top, that’ll be a combo meal with an additional order of walks. Hughes is comfortably a Top 20 college prospect for the draft despite being certainly a corner OF whose speed will never draw widespread acclaim; the eye and power are so strong.

Jesse Rusinek, RF Texas Tech (Big 12)

3-for-4, 3B, 2B, 2 R

Rusinek’s insane heater rolls on with a 3-for-4 evening, falling only a big fly short of the cycle, in fact. Considering he’s been up to 95 on the mound and has the athleticism to come away with a double and triple in this Big XII opener, I suspect we will be seeing much more from the freshman in the coming years.

Big Ten

Covered by: Quinn Martin

Will Gasparino, OF UCLA (Big Ten)

3-for-4, 2B, R, 2 RBI, BB

Roch Cholowsky, SS UCLA (Big Ten)

3-for-5, R, 2 RBI

‼️ Logan Reddemann, RHP UCLA (Big Ten)

6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 7 K

The trio of Reddeman, Cholowsky, and Gasparino dominate again on Friday night and continue to prove that they are the most complete team in the country. Reddeman's draft stock is soaring, Cholowsky has just about cemented his place as the 1.1, and Gasparino continues to make drastic changes from his first 2 seasons and is gaining confidence around the industry. If these three perform like this every Friday, I don't see how they can lose.

🍔🍟 👟 Colton Bower, C Washington (Big Ten)

2-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, 2 SB

Bower has been tearing the cover off the ball over the last 2 weeks and he kept his hot streak going last night. The swing is getting shorter and more compact, he's throwing his strength at the ball and his HR last night was picture perfect, driving it to the opposite field and way over the wall. Really excited for Bower after an uneven few years at UW and will be keeping an eye on him to keep this hot streak going.

Michael Anderson, 1B Penn State (Big Ten)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

Really happy to see Anderson performing, he broke out as a sophomore at Rhode Island, was really good in the first half of the 2024 Cape season, then struggled to find playing time at Arkansas in 2025. He came back home to Penn State this year and is starting to refind his groove. He is punishing baseballs, already putting out 8 with only 12 strikeouts which is a massive improvement from previous years. He'll also come in and pitch in a pinch if needed. Now a senior, his draft stock won't be the highest but a team could take a shot on his clear power.

Adrian Lopez, 1B USC (Big Ten)

3-for-4, HR, 3B, 3 R, 4 RBI, BB, K

The USC offense exploded yesterday and Adrian Lopez was right in the middle of it. The junior first baseman has been a consistent bat for the Trojans and put together one of his best games of the year last night. He's a big cat at 6'4, 210 and has a fun blend of athleticism and strength. He coils really well into the back hip and the hands fly through the zone. Lots of strength in that swing and expect him to finish in the 10 HR range. His draft stock will be interesting to see, as he shows some positional versatility, stolen bases, and raw power. I'd put him in the 8-10 round range right now but could certainly prove me wrong

‼️ Mason Edwards, LHP USC (Big Ten)

6 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 10 K

Another daily sheet, another Mason Edwards appearance. You guys know all about him at this point, he has a 0.30 ERA and 52 strikeouts, the fastball has tons of life and a nasty breaking ball that collegiate hitters seemingly cannot touch. Edwards is putting himself in round 1 consideration and is making himself a whole lot of money.

👟 Peyton Bonds, CF Rutgers (Big Ten)

4-for-4, 3 R, 2 SB

Bonds has a wide variety of outcomes as a player, he could be seen somewhat similarly to daily sheet favorite, Will Gasparino. He's a big, projectable, athletic CF with significant upside, however he's shown a wide range of results. This year, he's looked great, hitting over .400 and a 13% strikeout rate. These are huge building blocks, showing he can make consistent contact with those long levers. The next step for him is finding that power. He hit 5 in his both his freshman and sophomore seasons. He's up to 3 on the year so far and would love to see him get to 10 to prove to teams he made legitimate improvements in that space. Bonds looks the part of 3rd-5th rounder and could keep moving up over the course of conference play.

‼️ Will Sanford, RHP Oregon (Big Ten)

6.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 10 K

It wasn't the most dominant outing of the year for Sanford as he battled command with 3 walks and 4 wild pitches. He sits in the low to mid 90s with the fastball and pairs it nicely with a banger of a breaking ball. Sanford is eligible in 2027 and is one of the more impressive sophomores thus far. He looks the part of a day 1 arm and could significantly improve his stock over the next year with improved command, velocity, and a consistent third offering. Really good start to the year for Sanford.

Mid Majors

Covered by: Joshua Salguero

💣💣 🍔🍟 John Paul Head, LF Alabama Birmingham (Mid Majors)

3-for-4, 2 HR, 3 R, 6 RBI, SB

The Pope had his day off Sunday and got right back into the swing of things with another multi home run game. In his last five games, he’s hit eight home runs and recorded three hits in all but one of these games. His slugging has climbed nearly .700!!! points in this span, beginning at .457 and now sitting at a whopping 1.052. He recorded his first hit the first game after Lent began and has been crushing baseballs non-stop since. Coincidence for Pope John Paul Head? I think not.

‼️ Dax Whitney, RHP Oregon State (Mid Majors)

5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 9 K

It’s Friday so time for your weekly Dax Whitney blurb. The most surprising thing about this start is he failed to record at least ten strikeouts, the first time since his opening day start. Even then he still finished just shy with nine. He’s yet to give up more than one run in any outing and has not allowed more than three hits in his last four starts. His stuff is otherworldly and I can only say so many things without being repetitive. He hails from the state of Idaho where Kyle Manzardo is the lone major leaguer from the state. That will probably change in three years. I think I hear Flora calling?

‼️ Jackson Flora, RHP UC Santa Barbara (Mid Majors)

7.1 IP, 2 H, BB, 11 K

Whitney and Flora will be on every Friday sheet until the end of the season. They’ve been unstoppable. Flora is pushing himself into the #2 college spot and may even provide legit competition for Roch at #1. After this start against UC Davis that also saw him hold a no-hitter to the 6th, Flora’s season ERA is at a miniscule 1.15 with 39 strikeouts across 31.1 innings and he’s allowed just two extra base hits. He’s thrown his change a lot more consistently, staving off doubts of his lack of a sufficient third pitch. UCSB has quietly won thirteen in a row now, their lone two losses coming against Southern Miss in that amazing opening weekend series.

Carter Bergman, C Missouri State (Mid Majors)

1-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, K

Bergman continues to be nothing short of consistent. He’s a steady piece of Missouri State’s lineup all the while providing solid defense behind the plate. His tape measure shot in the 8th broke free from the team struggles against Ben Blair all night and gave them their first lead of the game they wouldn’t give back. Taking game one against Liberty with their ace tossing sets up a potential for a very happy weekend.

‼️ Ben Blair, RHP Liberty (Mid Majors)

6.0 IP, 6 H, ER, 8 K

Frustration probably best describes the mood. Blair tossed a gem against a terrifying Missouri State offense and came away with a no decision and team loss. Aside from Tanner Marsh, the offense couldn’t get things going and the bullpen struggled to put away hitters. Looking at the individual accomplishments, Blair continues to be unhittable with another terrific start, this time against a tough conference opponent. Blair is running a 14 K/BB ratio through 28.1 innings and his holding opponents to just a .157 average. Pretty good I say.

💣💣 Adam Agresti, C St. John's (Mid Majors)

2-for-3, 2 HR, 2 R, 6 RBI

Agresti’s got the stance that reminds me of players from the 90s and he’s got the power to match that. His bat continues to stay red hot, blasting two home runs in a big win over Charlotte. He’s now homered in four consecutive games, bringing his season total up to seven and approaching his career high of nine. His pull-side power is easy, aided by his big frame at 6’3” 235lbs. The second of his homers was a mammoth shot, nearly clearing the pine trees out in left. After a brutal start, St. Johns have now quietly won five of their last six including a win tonight against a strong Charlotte team. Do I smell a comeback in a weak Big East?

Kaden Amundson, C Arkansas State (Mid Majors)

2-for-3, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

If you’re not already checking in on the series between Arkansas St. and Southern Miss, I recommend doing so. It’s in my top three series to watch for this weekend. Kaden Amundson was the key piece for Arkansas State’s win Friday, driving in two runners and providing the offense early. His double in the 3rd got their first runner in scoring position where he would come in to score their first run of the game on a Lane Walton single. He’d come up to bat again the next inning where he would smack a two-run shot, tying the game up at three. The pitching staff would keep Southern Miss silent the rest of the night as the rest of the offense picked up from Amundson’s work to get the win.

‼️ Declan Dahl, RHP Louisiana Tech (Mid Majors)

7.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 8 K

Dahl’s last two starts left a bitter aftertaste but he brought back the sweetness with a stellar start against Delaware. Dahl pitched his longest outing of the season, tossing 102 pitches in what would turn out to be seven dominant innings. His fastball was on one, working the K for seven of his eight recorded. His crossbody delivery with a low arm angle provides deception that allows the heater to be his best pitch by far. The efficiency to his success is his offspeed. In his poor outings, it was the lack of feel for his breaking pitches that led to a fastball dominated arsenal that made him predictable. In his great games such as today, he provides a deeper arsenal when his slider and change are working. He’ll get another challenge next weekend, pitching in the high elevation that is the New Mexican mountains.

💣💣 Jake Bennett, DH Dallas Baptist (Mid Majors)

4-for-5, 2 HR, 2B, 4 R, BB

DBU didn’t need to quite score 40 to beat New Mexico State, in fact just 14 sufficed. If it’s possible to carry an offense in a run-rule victory, that’s best how I would describe Bennett’s day. He drove in eight of the fourteen runs, three of the six extra base hits, and was one of three hitters with a multi-hit day, reaching base five times for the game. Bennett’s home run in the 3rd put DBU on the board and with the lead, making it a 2-1 DBU lead. He cleared the bases in the 7th with a double bringing his RBI total up to five and with a three-run bomb in the 8th, put his team up 11 and “walked off” the game. This game was Bennett’s third multi-home run game of the young season and his season stands among the top at nine.

🍔🍟 Mike Young, RF South Alabama (Mid Majors)

3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB

If Bennett’s day is described as a carry job, then Mike Young is a one-man army. Young was almost literally the entire offense, driving in all three runs for South Alabama and recording three of the six hits for the team. His 2nd inning triple pressured defenders into making an error, turning his triple into a little league home run. A 6th inning single drove in another run and allowed his speed to shine again with a steal although he wasn’t driven in. His homer in the 8th put them up by one where reliever Jaxon Shineflew, continued his dominance and shut the door. It’s been a growing slump for Young but this performance is one to shoot life back into his bat and bring back the good streak he experienced in February.

‼️ Max Bayles, RHP Santa Clara (Mid Majors)

6.0 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 9 K, HRA

Bayles is one of the more underrated draft arms out in the land of pitching that is the west coast. His over-the-top release and two plus breaking pitches have led to consistently high K rates which has translated to dominance through five starts this season. Building off from an outing where he shutout Oklahoma through four striking out ten, Bayles threw six innings of one run ball with nine punch outs. The command was much stronger, limiting himself to just two walks and being aggressive early, landing first pitch strikes against 16 of his 20 batters faced. His strikeout rate continues to climb from the already outstanding 35% rate he generated last year and now sits at 41.4% for this season. The command is key to his success and while it has struggled early, this start provided a more positive sign.

‼️ Isaiah Magdaleno, RHP Hawaii (Mid Majors)

6.0 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 9 K, HRA

Magdaleno makes his first appearance on the sheet! Yeah he should’ve made it here already but my mistakes helped build his anticipation for his awaited arrival. It’s been every other start that’s been dominant and Friday was a case of the other. Six shutout innings against a weaker LBSU lineup but the control looked much better and continued a rising trend. His K rate continues to hover around the 30% mark, matching his rate pitching out of relief last season. There’s been a couple hiccups upon his return to the rotation but overall, he’s looked amazing and continues to build his draft portfolio.

💣💣 Gabe Camacho, 1B UC San Diego (Mid Majors)

4-for-7, 2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBI, 2 K

J.C. Allen, 3B UC San Diego (Mid Majors)

4-for-7, HR, 2 2B, 2 R, 4 RBI

The score was 5-1 UCSD after five innings of play. Chaos ensued and the final score was 17-16 UCSD. College baseball man. Gabe Camacho and J.C. Allen each had four hit, four RBI performances with Camacho hitting the clutch two-run home run in the 9th to break the 15-15 tie. This marks the fourth straight multi-hit game for Camacho as well as the fourth home run in as many games for the junior. Allen himself has now homered in consecutive games. Both Camacho and Allen were expected to be key returners for a UCSD lineup that was thought to make some sneaky noise but quiet beginnings from the both have led to a disappointing start for the team. Both look to be on the upside of things and their return to form could signal a turnaround for this UCSD squad.

Southeastern

Covered by: Brandon Payne

Ethan Hindle, 3B Kentucky (Southeastern)

2-for-4, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI, K

Hindle helped propel Kentucky to a win over Alabama. The JR second baseman has played every game for the Wildcats this year and has 23 hits, second on the team. He hit his team leading 6th homerun on Friday and is sporting a crazy 1.200OPS. In March, Hindle is 9-25 with 4 homeruns.

Manny Marin, SS Tennessee (Southeastern)

2-for-4, HR, 2B, R, 3 RBI

Marin launched his 3rd homerun of the year on Friday night and was an integral part of the Vols win over Georgia to open SEC play. The sophomore has been stelar this year and has 3 multi hit games in a row. He upped his season average to .350 in 40 AB.

Jake Brown, RF Louisiana State (Southeastern)

3-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, 2 K

Jake Brown remains red hot. Back to back games with a homerun. It was a 3-run homer in the top of the second inning that gave Brown his 10th on the year. Brown is slugging .887 this year and is reaching base just about half the time, .495OB%. Jake Brown is an easy 20/20 candidate in the future.

Justin Lebron, SS Alabama (Southeastern)

2-for-5, HR, 2 R, RBI, K

Justin Lebron just keeps chugging along. He hit his 9th homerun of the season on Friday night and added to his RBI total, now with 21. He now has a 6 game hit streak going into Saturday's action. The top 10 2026 draft prospect is now slashing .319/.462/.736

Ace Reese, 3B Mississippi State (Southeastern)

1-for-4, RBI, BB

Aidan Teel, CF Mississippi State (Southeastern)

3-for-4, BB

Aidan Teel was a throne in the side of the Razorback pitching staff. He had 3 hits and reached base 4 times with a walk. This was Teel's first game back since the beginning of the month and despite the missed game time, he added on to a now 5 game hit streak and looked like the off time had zero effect. Ace Reese had a quiet night in terms of production, but all of his outs were loud. I really like how he gets to the baseball and his swing looks fluid with no hitches in it.

Ryan McPherson, RHP Mississippi State (Southeastern)

6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 8 K, HRA

This was the game I had on my tv last night and it did not disappoint. And in watching this matchup, I became a believer in Ryan McPherson. He battled all night and struck out 8 without allowing a walk. He did give up an absolute nuke shot to Zack Stewart to end his night, but was able to locate his pitches all over the zone and looked comfortable in a tough place to go on a Friday night. Another 2027 draft class stud to keep an eye on.

‼️ Jake Marciano, LHP Auburn (Southeastern)

7 IP, 2 H, BB, 7 K

The sophomore southpaw continues his dominance on the mound. 7 strong innings on Friday lowered his ERA to 0.93 across 29IP. He has 42K to 2BB, although he did hit 3 batters last night. Marciano is setting himself up to be a top pick in the 2027 draft.

Josh Gunther, RHP South Carolina (Southeastern)

6.1 IP, 3 BB, 5 K

It was a pitchers dual last night and Josh Gunther showed up for the Gamecocks. No hits allowed through 6.1 IP gave his team a chance, however they couldn't capitalize on it. The Wake Forest transfer has been solid this year and through 24.2 IP he has 31K to 8BB.

‼️ Liam Peterson, RHP Florida (Southeastern)

6 IP, H, 2 BB, 10 K

Twenty-one batters faced and 10 strike outs for Peterson last night. Only 1 hit allowed made for an outstanding night on the mound. Peterson has really turned it on lately and has hit double digit punchouts in back to back starts.
