How to Finish A Real Godly Mess in Disney Dreamlight Valley

A trickster has wrecked the gods' mosaic mural inside the temple, and calming them down is the only way to convince Hercules and Phil to leave the Realm and settle in your valley. The A Real Godly Mess quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley walks you through collecting six scattered mural pieces, solving a drag-and-drop puzzle, and then doing a little extra legwork to win Phil over.

Find all six mosaic pieces in the temple

The mural is missing six pieces, and every one of them sits inside the main temple area, so there's no need to roam far. They're hidden behind environmental obstacles you'll have to clear first.

Step 1: Break the black and pink rocks around the temple. Pieces can be tucked behind these the moment you smash them.

Step 2: Clear away the dark thorns and destroy the Greek column rock spots. These also block access to the fragments.

Step 3: Pick up the pieces resting on the ground, and chase the ones that fly off. The fleeing pieces behave just like the Pegasus Feathers from the Speedrun Crash Course quest, so glide after them to grab them.

Step 4: Once all six are in hand, head to the center of the temple and talk to Phil in front of the mural to move the quest forward.

Complete the mosaic puzzle

After your chat with Phil, an interactive point appears on the mural. Click it to open the puzzle. It works the same way as the Re-Order puzzles over in Storybook Vale, so it'll feel familiar if you've done those.

The goal is to click and drag each piece from the left side of the screen into its matching slot on the right. Start with the outer border and work inward toward the middle. It's the fastest way to lock the edges in place and avoid second-guessing the center tiles.

When the mural is fully restored, the darkness in the Hercules Realm disappears, and the gods stop being upset. That visual change is your confirmation the puzzle is solved correctly.

Place Hercules' house in the valley

With the gods calmed, Hercules is ready to move in. You'll need to head back to the main valley and pay to build his home.

Step 1: Interact with the sparkling spot near the beach in the Hercules Realm to travel back to your valley.

Step 2: Open furniture mode, select the Phil quest icon, and place the house outline anywhere in the village you like.

Step 3: Interact with the Scrooge McDuck sign in front of the outline and spend 10,000 Star Coins to construct the house. Once it's built, Hercules officially becomes a valley resident.

Cook a five-star meal for Phil

Hercules is in, but Phil takes more convincing. Hercules suggests winning him over with a good meal.

Cook any dish that comes out at five stars. The exact recipe doesn't matter, so use whatever high-quality ingredients you already have on hand. With the meal ready, return to the Hercules Realm and give it to Phil at the temple.

Find the trickster clue and welcome Phil

Phil won't budge until he learns more about whoever vandalized the mural. He asks you to track down a clue.

Step 1: Walk over to the newly fixed mosaic and look in the water directly in front of it. You'll find a piece of Dreamlight Thread floating there.

Step 2: Collect the thread and bring it back to Phil. After you promise to keep investigating once he's settled in town, he agrees to join.

Step 3: Return to the valley to welcome Phil as a new villager. The moment he's in, A Real Godly Mess is complete, and both Hercules and Phil are unlocked.
