2000s 'Fragrantica' Scent Notes Page Becomes An Eerie And Controversial TikTok Meme

Fragrantica Notes or the Fragrantica Trend is a series of exploitable memes using the 2000s layout for the perfume encyclopedia website Fragrantica's scent notes tool, which tells users the notes they might smell in a given perfume. Memes using the layout, which show an image unrelated to perfume above the scent notes, started appearing online in 2025, particularly on Instagram. In April and May 2026, a meme trend using the layout was popularized on TikTok. The trend typically begins with a positive or neutral image, caption and scent notes, then transitions to a similar, more disturbing or creepy image with more suggestively dark scent notes and a caption underneath, showing a situation going from innocent to dark and serious. Some examples are based on real-life murders, missing persons cases and disturbing incidents. The transition noise is from the creepypasta Flash game Lacey's Wardrobe.
