The earliest known meme about getting a tungsten cube was posted in December 2024 by X user @uberstuber as past of the "If You're a Guy In Your Early 20s Buy a Rolex" meme trend. Memes about tungsten cubes were further popularized in June 2026 on TikTok after user @jacobw.health posted a video where he lists a tungsten cube among other "flower-equivalent" gifts, also including banana bread.
