RUMOR: Disney Television Animation Developing “Artemis Fowl” Animated Series According To SAG-AFTRA Listing.

A different kind of Pixie Dust might be brewing at Disney Television Animation …. Atermis Fowl, Domovoi Butler , Holly Short and Juliet might be getting adapted at the studio behind beloved shows like “Gravity Falls, "Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil”, “Amphibia” and**“The Owl House** ” in a potential animated adaptation of the beloved book series.

According to the public search database from the SAG-AFTRA website they recently have listed a potential new project from the studio: An animated adaptation of the Artemis Fowl book series as they listed the potential project with “Artemis Fowl (Pilot)”.

The listing dates back from 2023 with the project still being active at the studio. Other potential projects “Tinker Bell and The Glitter City ” and “Toontown (Shorts)” are also part of the website’s**** listing.

However we should take this with a BIG grain of salt as the site also listed scrapped series from the studio like “Neon Galaxy ” byLee Knox Ostertag , “Weird Waters ” by Bob Bowen and Jacob Hair as well the recently scrapped “Kim Possible ” sequel series/reboot.

In the first book twelve-year-old child prodigy Artemis Fowl II and his bodyguard Butler kidnap Holly Short, an elf and a captain of the Lower Elements Police Reconnaissance force (LEPrecon), holding her for a ransom of one ton of gold to exploit the magical Fairy People and restore his family’s fortune.

The Artemis Fowl series introduces Artemis as a villain and the Peoples’ enemy, but as the books progress, Artemis’s character develops and changes. As an anti-villain, he assists the People and a reluctant Short in resolving conflicts with worldwide ramifications. His moral compass develops throughout the series.

Artemis Fowl ” was adapted into a live-action film byWalt Disney Studios which had it’s release on Disney+ in August 2020. The film would be panned by critics and fans of the books, who criticized the film’s plot, dialogue, characters, visual effects, and major changes made to the source material.

Additionaly the film would be removed from Disney+ on May 2023 as part of a cost-cutting measure on Disney’s streaming platforms however it can currently be watched on Tubi forFREE.

Disney Branded Television has had huge sucess with popular YA adaptations like “** Percy Jackson And The Olympians** ” and recently started production on a live-action adaptation of the book series “** Eragon** ” both for Disney+. This potential animated series adaptation could make justice to the original book series by introducing it’s characters to a new generation of fans and YA audiences which still crave the next big serialized Disney animated series after the end of “The Owl House ” and “Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur ”.
