Jon Favreau attended the panel where he discussed how “The Mandalorian ” became so big to a point of getting a feature film based on his show. During the panel Favreau discussed his career as well working with Disney across their divisions like Lucasfilm Ltd, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios and he briefly mentioned his upcoming “Oswald The Lucky Rabbit ” live-action/animated hybrid series for Disney+.
Favreau mentioned that the project will feature 2D animation and that the project’s goal is re-introducing Oswald to a new generation of kids and audiences as well respecting the history of the character for being Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks first creation before Mickey Mouse.
“And working with Disney you know i’ve work with them with Marvel and we are working on some upcoming production of Oswald that we’ve been talking about which is bringing this whole character from 1927, Walt’s original character that he developed before Mickey Mouse. We’ve been working that, filming that and doing 2D animation and just looking back to the history but also updating it and introducing him to a new generation” — Favreau
