Trophy trout, which are trout at least 15 inches in length, have been stocked for 10 years since a pilot program began in 2016, according to the ODFW.
Dorman Pond, the small fishing hole just west of the junction of Highways 6 and 8 in Gales Creek, is set to receive 1,200 legal size rainbow trout between April 27 and May 1. It will be the third time the pond has been stocked this year, bringing the total to 3,200 legal size trout stocked.
In Vernonia, the lake will receive 4,000 legal size trout from April 27 to May 1.
