The invention relates, among other things, to a cover device with at least one cover (14a, 14b) which is pivotable relative to a structure (17a, 17b), in particular a cover frame, about a pivot axis (15a, 15b) between a closed position and an open position and is lockable in at least one position with a locking device, wherein the cover is loaded by a spring (16a, 16b) with a first spring end (18) and with a second spring end (21) in a pivot direction (u1, v1) and wherein the spring force of the spring (16a, 16b) is adjustable. The special feature consists in that the spring (16a, 16b) comprises at least one torsion spring section (20) and at least one coil spring section (22) and that the coil spring section (22) is detachably attached to the structure.
