The present invention relates to a device for anchoring the lower end of the safety belt strap of an optional seat to the floor of a motor vehicle; characterized in that it comprises a plastic base (40) provided with a passage bore (43) for a screw in order to permit its attachment to said floor, and in that it further comprises a metal bracket (50) comprising an attachment branch (52) provided with retention means for said lower end of said strap as well as a support branch (51) provided with a hole (55) allowing the attachment of said bracket (50) to said base (40) and to said floor by means of said screw. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a floor on at least one lateral side of which is fixed such an anchoring device.
