According to some embodiments, a battery management device includes a data acquisition unit configured to acquire battery data from a multi-pack battery including a main battery pack and one or more sub-battery packs and a control unit configured to determine whether a low-temperature pack in a low-temperature state exists among packs of the multi-pack battery based on the battery data, select a discharge pack from among the remaining packs of the multi-pack battery, excluding the low-temperature pack, based on the battery data when the low-temperature pack exists, and supply power by discharge of the discharge pack to a temperature management device configured to manage a temperature of the low-temperature pack.
