Described is a road paver comprising an operator station (1), wherein the operator station comprises at least one operator position (11) which can be arranged projecting laterally from a cab (15) of the operator station, and wherein a roof (2) is furthermore arranged, which covers the operator station and which is laterally expandable in order, in the expanded state, to cover the projecting operator position. The roof comprises a base element (21) and at least one extension element (22), which extension element is mounted on the base element and is displaceable relative to the base element between a maximum inserted position and a maximum extended position, wherein the extension element is displaceable relative to the base element exclusively in a translatory manner.
