A drive circuit for a roof assembly, the roof assembly comprising a roof panel movable between a closed position and an opened position by a motor, the drive circuit comprising an H-bridge comprising switch elements for controlling the speed of the motor; a reverse polarity protection switch, such as a MOSFET; and at least one measurement circuit. The drive circuit is configured for receiving a PWM-signal with a duty cycle for operating the H-bridge. The at least one measurement circuit is configured for performing a current measurement of at least one of the switch elements of the H-bridge and/or the reverse polarity protection switch, respectively.
