The invention relates to a headrest (1) comprising a cushion (2) for supporting the passenger's head and a frame (3) for connecting said cushion to a backrest of said seat, said frame being based on folded metal tubing arranged to present a generally inverted U shape defining: a median part (4) housed in said cushion; two parallel branches (5) intended to be received in sliding fashion in the backrest of said seat, said branches presenting, over at least part of their length, an oblong external radial section whose large dimension extends longitudinally, so as to reinforce their bending resistance in the face of an effort applied longitudinally; two respective bent parts (6) connecting said branches to said median part, said bent parts and said branches presenting a substantially constant wall thickness, said median part and said bent parts presenting a substantially circular external radial section.
