Vehicle pneumatic tire with a tread profile comprising at least one circumferential groove (5) and at least one block row (4) bounded at least on one side by a circumferential groove (5), whose blocks (8) are separated from one another by transverse grooves (7), which are bounded on the block surfaces by block edges (9, 10), having an entering block edge (10) which first enters the ground when the tire rolls (during forward travel) and the exiting block edge (9) provided on the adjacent block (8), wherein the entering block edge (10) is composed of two sections (10a, 10b), of which the section (10b) adjoining the circumferential groove (5) is the shorter one and which extend towards one another at an obtuse angle (³), so that each block (8) between the one section (10b) and the block edge (11) bounding the block (8) at the circumferential groove (5) in the circumferential direction has a wedge-like or triangular projection (12). The longer section (10a) of the entering block edge (10) is provided with a chamfer over its length, which tapers out along the shorter section (10b), wherein the exiting block edge (9) has an overall substantially straight or slightly curved course over its entire extent, wherein the mutual distance between the entering block edge (10) and the exiting block edge (9) is greatest at the bend point between the two sections (10a, 10b) of the entering block edge (10) and decreases in both directions from the bend point.
