DEVICE FOR SEPARATING DUST IN A DIRTY AIR AREA OF A MOTOR AIR INTAKE OF A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

The invention relates to a device for dust separation in the raw air region of a motor air intake of a vehicle, in particular of a commercial vehicle, wherein the device has a dust discharge valve (2) on the outlet side. According to the invention, it is provided that the dust discharge valve (2) has an outlet opening (16) and the dust separated during operation accumulates at least partially directly in a dust collection area (18) in front of the outlet opening (16). Furthermore, the dust discharge valve (2) has a closing element (22) which is arranged at the outlet opening (16) openable outward in the outlet direction and which is closed during engine operation by a closing force. The dust discharge valve (2) is controllable and/or automated openable and/or releasable by means of an opening and/or release device. Particularly preferably, the dust discharge valve (2) has in its interior region a blowing-out device (24, 25) directed toward the outlet opening (16), with whose blow-out pressure the closing element (22) is openable and dust accumulated in the dust collection area (18) can be blown out of the dust discharge valve (2) at suitable time intervals.
