The invention relates to a valve plate device (VP), preferably for a device with fluctuating pressure conditions and/or fluctuating volume flows, in particular for a filter device (1) for a motor vehicle, wherein the valve plate device (VP) has at least two passage openings (D1, D2, D3) and at least two lips (L1, L2, L3) for opening and closing the passage openings (D1, D2, D3) and the thickness (s) of the valve plate device (VP) and/or of the lips (L1, L2, L3) increases toward at least one side, preferably such that the lips (L1, L2, L3) have different weights and/or exhibit different opening and closing resistance. The invention further comprises a filter device for a motor vehicle with at least one valve plate device (VP) as previously described. The valve plate device is designed to switch individual cyclone filter arrangements on or off in a demand-dependent or volume-flow-dependent manner by opening and closing the lips.
