Holding device for holding a plug

A receiving device (1) for receiving a connector comprises a housing (3) with a receiving space (4) that is accessible via an insertion opening (5) and serves to receive parts of the connector, a cover (6) that closes the insertion opening (5) and is pivotable about a cover pivot axis from a closed position into a release position, and an actuating lever (7) that is hinged to the housing and is pivotable about a lever pivot axis, having guide paths (12) into which parts of the cover (6) engage and via which the cover (6) is pivotable upon pivoting of the actuating lever (7), wherein the actuating lever (7) is pivotable from an initial position in which the cover (6) is in the closed position into an end position in which the cover is in the release position. The pivoting movement of the actuating lever (7) and the pivoting movement of the cover (6) are opposite to one another with respect to their respective pivoting directions.
