Method and device for optimising vehicle driving times

The invention relates to a method for optimizing driving time in vehicles, wherein the driving time is recorded within a time recording interval and compared with a maximum permissible driving time within the time recording interval, and wherein if the maximum permissible driving time is complied with, the time recording interval is not registered as driving time. According to the invention, it is provided that when a vehicle is stationary, the driving time incurred within a time recording interval is compared with a maximum permissible driving time within the time recording interval, and that when an allowable remaining driving time is determined, starting off is delayed on the vehicle side such that after starting off again, the end of the maximum permissible driving time coincides with the end of the time recording interval, and that means are provided which signal readiness to start off while complying with the maximum permissible driving time. To carry out the method, a suitable apparatus is furthermore proposed.
